Women’s Golf Takes Third at NWGC Championship

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – Suffolk women's golf put together a podium finish at the 2023 Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) Championship over the weekend as Wintonbury Hills. 

The Rams finished third in the eight-team field with a two-day score of 354 to finish behind SUNY Cortland (309) and three strokes after runner-up St. John Fisher. 

Ellie Yarbrough turned in a top-3 finish of her own as she shot a 79 each day on the par-70 course to take third in the 43-golfer field en route to All-NWGC First-Team honors, which was presented to the top five finishers. Yarbrough earned All-NWGC distinction for the third time in her career as she garnered the feat for the third straight season. With three All-NWGC accolades, Yarbrough is the most decorated Ram in program history via the NWGC. 

Isabel Smith, meanwhile, was just outside the league's second-team with a 12th-place finish with a card of 179. 

Madison Scheinberg placed 14th with a 181 and Sophie Kiley took 22nd behind a 200.  

Suffolk concludes its 2023 spring slate Saturday, April 29 in a head-to-head match with Westfield State
