Women’s Golf Takes 11th at Hamilton Invitational

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – Over the weekend, Suffolk women's golf opened its 2021-22 campaign with an 11th-place performance at the Hamilton Invitational at the Yahnundasis Golf Club.

The Rams finished the two-day event with a team card of 780 to finish in 11th in the 15-team field, which was topped by Williams' score of 613.

Individually, Isabel Smith was the highest scoring Suffolk student-athlete. The sophomore shared 25th with a 165. She shaved three strokes off her day one score to complete the course with a +19.

Smith's classmate Ellie Yarbrough landed just outside the top 50. The sophomore's 181 was good for a tie of 52nd.

Madison Scheinberg and Sophie Kiley rounded out the Rams on the green. The former, a senior from Plantation, Florida, claimed 74th with a score of 211, while the latter, a sophomore that calls Brookefield, Massachusetts, home, took 76th with a card of 223.

Suffolk will be back in action this weekend, Sept. 18-19, at the Husson Invitational at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course in Bangor, Maine.
