Women’s Golf Falls to SUNY Cortland

REXFORD, N.Y. – Suffolk women's golf slipped to SUNY Cortland, 354-366 Saturday at Edison Club.  

The Rams and Red Dragos took the green at the Edison Club, which has 27 holes, and competed on holes 10-27. Suffolk was 12 strokes behind SUNY Cortland to fall in the first ever head-to-head match between the foes.  

Isabel Smith shined individually for the blue-and-gold golfers with a second-place finish behind individual medalist Danielle Bambola of Cortland. Smith shot an 82 on the course.  

Seven strokes behind Smith was senior captain Nicole Antonucci who shared third with the Red Dragons' Amanda Gaffney. 

Ellie Yarbrough rounded out the top five with a 93 and Madison Scheinberg completed Suffolk's competitors with a 102-card showing, good for eighth overall. 

The Rams wrap up the 2021 season tomorrow, Sunday, May 2 when it faces Worcester State at the Blackstone National Golf Club at 2 p.m.
