Women’s Golf Looks to Finish the Fall Season Strong at NEIGA Championship


BOSTON – The Suffolk women's golf team is set to close out the fall season this weekend at the NEIGA Championships. The tournament will be held at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts, and will consist of two rounds on Saturday, Oct. 21 and another round Sunday, Oct. 22.

LAST TIME OUT
In its first ever championship and in just the second-year as a varsity program, Suffolk women's golf put together a runner-up showing at the Empire8 Championship over the weekend at Ballston Spa Country Club hosted by St. John Fisher.

ABOUT THE NEIGA
The New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) is a non-profit organization, which was first organized in 1934 at the Oakley Country Club in Watertown, Massachusetts. NEIGA is believed to be the largest gathering of collective players from all levels of NCAA competing at the same location on a 36-hole layout. There are currently 46 New England colleges and universities as members of the NEIGA.

THE COURSE
Two championship golf courses at one location lie in the Captains Golf Course. Together, the par-72 Port Course and the par-72 Starboard Course deliver 36 holes.
