Women’s Golf Vies for Empire8 Championship This Weekend


BOSTON – Women's golfers across the Empire8 will take the course at the Ballston Spa Country Club in Saratoga, New York, this weekend with Suffolk and its conference counterparts converging in the hopes to capture the conference crown. The two-day championship, which is hosted by St. John Fisher offers live stats here, while individual tee times can be found here.

LAST TIME OUT
Over Sept. 23-24, the Suffolk women's golf team took the course at The Orchards Golf Club for the 41st Mt. Holyoke Invitational and two head-to-head matches with Westfield State. The Rams finished 14th at the invite and took down the Owls on Saturday and Sunday by scores of 399-457 and 370-425, respectively.

THE COURSE
Ballston Spa Country Club was established in 1925 during golf's Golden Age. The exemplary parkland design with greens and fairways is a 74 par course for women.   

ANOTHER FIRST
The Empire8 Championship marks the first-ever championship Suffolk women's golf will compete for in the short history of the program, which began a year ago.

Suffolk wraps up fall action at the NEIGA Championships Oct. 21-22. Playing in its second championship in as many weeks, the Rams head to Brewster, Massachusetts to wrap up fall action at the NEIGA Championships Oct. 21-22 at the Captains Golf Course.
