Women’s Golf Set for William Smith Invitational this Weekend


BOSTON – Suffolk women's golf will compete in its first two-day competition of 2017 as it heads to Clifton, New York, this weekend for the William Smith Invitational. Tee time at the Clifton Springs Country Club Saturday, Sept. 16 is scheduled for 11 a.m., with the team's will take the green at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 17.

THE COURSE
Clifton Springs Country Club, located in Clifton, New York, features a par 72 course for women. To view an overhead look of every hole on the course, click here

THE COMPETITION
Ten teams will join Suffolk at Clifton Springs Country Club this weekend. In addition to the Rams and hosts William and Smith, Empire 8 members St. John Fisher and Nazareth will take the course, with Cortland, Delhi, Elmire, Hamilton, Ithaca, Keuka and SUNY Cobleskill also set to compete. 

LAST TIME OUT
Multiple firsts were checked off for Suffolk women's golf Sept. 10. In the Rams' first competition of 2017, their first-ever home match, the blue-and-gold collected the program's first win, defeating Rhode Island College, 354-371, at Brookmeadow Country Club.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Suffolk will head to South Hadley, Massachusetts, Sept. 23 for the Mount Holyoke Invitational at The Orchards Golf Club. Over the two-day event, the Rams will take on Westfield State in head-to-head matches.
