Alessandra Quadri returned to her Suffolk roots and joined Ed Leyden’s staff prior to the 2017-18 season and begins her fifth year in 2021-22.

In her first campaign on the coaching staff, Suffolk clinched its 23rd consecutive appearance in the GNAC postseason behind a 12-4 league ledger, which matched the most conference victories in program history.

Leading the way to a conference championship appearance was the trio of all-league selections, Jenni-Rose DiCecco (Rookie of the Year), Georgia Bourikas (second team) and Alexis Hackett (third team). The dynamic trio pushed the Rams to their limits including the program’s second-ever win over Boston neighbor and longtime rival Emmanuel in the semifinals to punch their ticket to the title tilt for just the fifth time. Suffolk fell short, falling to Saint Joseph’s (Maine) to complete 21-7 overall.

After their third 20-win season, Bourikas and DiCecco were recognized regionally. Bourikas, who became the 10th player in program history to eclipse both 1,000 points and 500 rebounds, was the first-ever Suffolk student-athlete to be selected to represent the Rams in the NEWBA All-Star Classic. Freshman floor general, DiCecco, meanwhile earned a place on the NEWBA All-Rookie Team.

Quadri's second season on the bench saw Suffolk secure a spot in the league's postseason for the 24th consecutive campaign behind a 9-3 mark versus conference competition. As the fourth seed, the Rams advanced to the semifinals for the second straight season and 11th time in program history, but their season ended there at 19-8 overall.

Suffolk had two student-athletes represent the blue-and-gold on the all-league team in Jenni-Rose DiCecco (first-team) and Alexis Hackett (second-team). DiCecco became the first Suffolk player to earn a spot on the conference's top team since 2014-15 and youngest player to do so since the program's all-time leading scorer Katie Norton did so in 1997-98.

In 2019-20 the blue-and-gold had one last shot at GNAC glory with the switch to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) on the 2020-21 calendar. Navigating a tough non-conference campaign and the obstacles of no home court for the majority of second semester, the Rams managed to clinch the fourth seed in their 25th and final GNAC postseason trip.

A thrilling marathon quarterfinals battle, Suffolk held on double overtime to eliminate Albertus Magnus, 103-95, and advance to the semis for the third consecutive campaign and 12th time overall. Coming off the longest game in program history, the blue-and-gold headed across town for a Beantown battle with Emmanuel. Another back-and-forth tested the Rams, but this time they landed on the wrong side of the decision and ended the GNAC era with an 18-9 overall record.

Even though the main goal was not grasped in Quadri’s third season on the bench, a pair of student-athletes had memorable milestone moments. First-team All-GNAC honoree Jenni-Rose DiCecco became one of the youngest Rams to reach the 1,000-point mark, achieving the feat seven games into her junior season. Alexis Hackett, a third-team all-conference selection, sealed her own spot in the 1K club, while also taking over as the program’s leader in both blocks and rebounds.

In 2020-21, Suffolk was limited to a condensed eight-game non-conference schedule due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The Rams took advantage of their opportunities and compiled a 7-1 record over four weeks spanning February and March 2021. In that stretch, Jenni-Rose DiCecco sealed her place as the program's all-time leader in assists and steals. Both marks were hit in the same outing, a 71-42 victory over Curry March 12, 2021.

Quardi came back to her alma mater after a four-year career with the blue-and-gold between 2012-16. A 2016 graduate of Suffolk with a Bachelors in sociology, Quadri helped the Rams to four GNAC Tournament trips and a pair of ECAC appearances with championship runs in both as a freshman in 2012-13.

Throughout her career, Quadri put together a player resume of 585 points, 392 rebounds, 110 assists and 103 steals.
