DeAngelis Named D3hoops.com All-Region First-Team

D3hOOPS.COM RELEASE | D3hOOPS.COM REGION 2 TEAM

BOSTON – Amanda DeAngelis added more hardware to her awards resume as she was named D3hoops.com All-Region 2 First-Team, the national organization unveiled Tuesday.

DeAngelis is the first Ram, male or female, to pick up all-region first-team distinction from D3hoops.com. She is the second-ever member of Suffolk women's basketball to be recognized by the national organization with a spot on the all-region team joining Jenni-Rose DiCecco, who collected a pair of honors throughout her five-year career (2017-22).

Players were nominated for the 23rd edition of the D3hoops.com all-region teams by Sports Information Directors. NCAA Division III basketball is organized into 10 regions. A region with 40 teams or more has three all-region teams, while a region with fewer than 40 squads has a first and second teams, respectively.

Student-athletes to make the all-region squads are now on the D3hoops.com All-America team ballot, which will be released Saturday, March 16 at the national championship game.

DeAngelis is the only CCC representative on any D3hoops.com All-Region teams.

In addition to the D3Hoops.com all-region distinction, DeAngelis garnered an extensive list of accolades this year including CCC Player of the Year, All-CCC First-Team and All-NEWBA First-Team.

DeAngelis was an two-way threat for the Rams in their fourth-ever 20-win season. The forward from Londonderry, New Hampshire averaged 17.9 points, 11.8 rebounds double-double. Over the course of the 27-game slate, she produced 19 double-doubles, the fourth-most across NCAA DIII this season.

Offensively, she hit double figures in scoring 22 times, with nine 20-plus point performances and a career-high 32-point output in an 82-76 overtime victory at Endicott Jan. 27, 2024. In that thrilling triumph over the Gulls, she became the 18th member of Suffolk's 1,000 point club and the 13th Rams in program history to surpass 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.

At 5-foor-10, she was one of Region 2's top rebounders with CCC-best numbers in every rebounding category including 7.4 defensive caroms per outing and 4.4 offensive boards per contest. Those numbers remain in the top 20 nationally and top five regionally.

To go along with her scoring and rebounding efforts, she added 2.35 steals, 2.8 assists and 1.2 blocks per game.
