BOSTON – Suffolk Athletics is excited to unveil the second recipient of the Sue Rae '81 Heart and Soul Award this Saturday, Feb. 17 prior to the 1 p.m. tip-off of the women's basketball game versus Curry at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.  

Created through the generous support of Suffolk Alumni, the award recognizes Sue Rae, Class of 1981, a founding member of the Suffolk women's basketball program who passed away in 2021. 

"Sue was truly the heart of the women's basketball program," said teammate Elaine Buckley, BS '84. "Her enthusiasm and commitment to Suffolk, the team and her teammates bound us all together. We are proud to support Suffolk women's basketball and recognize a current player who brings that same spirit to the team."

The award is selected by the coaching staff every year and is presented in front of Ram Nation. Arlenis Veloz was named the inaugural honoree in 2022-23.
