DeAngelis Tabbed All-NEWBA Third-Team

NEWBA Release

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Suffolk women's basketball junior Amanda DeAngelis was named to the New England Women's Basketball (NEWBA) third-team, the organization announced Tuesday.

The regional recognition marks the first for DeAngelis. She became the second-ever Ram to receive the regional distinction, first since Jenni-Rose DiCecco was tabbed a NEWBA Third-Team honoree in 2018-19.

Over 21 student-athletes from 19 different programs picked up a regional distinction. DeAngelis is one of three Commonwealth Coast Conference players to take home the feat along with Roger Williams' Caroline Elie and the University of New England's Keagan Dunbar, who were named to the second and fourth-team, respectively.

The Londonderry, New Hampshire native, who collected All-CCC First-Team honors, was the backbone to Suffolk's offense and defense behind a double-double average of 16.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. In 26 games played, the Rams' captain compiled 21 20-plus point showings and paced the blue-and-gold on the boards 17 times with double-digit caroms in 14 appearances. The small forward put together 13 double-double efforts to. Lead the Rams to the CCC postseason for the second time in as many ears that Suffolk belonged to the league.
