DeAngelis Grabs All-CCC First-Team

CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Suffolk women's basketball's Amanda DeAngelis put together a standout junior campaign en route to a spot on the Commonwealth Coast Conference's First-Team, the league office unveiled Tuesday.

DeAngelis was Suffolk's offensive and defensive staple as she averaged a double-double of 16.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. The captain was one of just two players in the CCC to average a double-double, alongside Gordon's CCC Player of the Year Madison Wynbeek of Gordon.

Over Suffolk's 25 regular-season games, DeAngelis scored in double figures on 21 occassions with seven 20-plus point showings. The captain paced the Rams on the glass 16 times this season, with double-figure caroms in 14 appearances. The two-way player put together a bakers' dozen double-double efforts to collect her first all-conference accolade.

The forward from Londonderry, New Hampshire, aided to the Rams CCC postseason berth, the seventh spot in the eight-team field. The league's quarterfinals shipped Suffolk to Biddeford, Maine to take on second seed University of New England Feb. 21. In a game that featured a dozen lead changes and 13 tied scores, the blue-and-gold fell short, 63-53, to end the year, its second in the CCC, 13-13.

In two seasons in the CCC, Suffolk has taken home four conference awards including defensive player of the year, two first-team selections and one third-team nod. Overall, the Rams trophy case features 38 all-conference awards, 34 of which were handed out during Suffolk's tenure in the GNAC (1996-2020) including two rookie of the years, 11 first-team, nine second-team and 13 third-team selections.
