Treys from Maddie Stewart and Madi Mahoney sent Suffolk up eight, 22-14, at the 6:05 mark of the second. The After the teams traded hoops, the Fighting Scots closed the stanza on a 6-2 stretch to make it a two-point game, 28-26, when the teams headed to the locker room.

Back-to-back long balls by the blue-and-gold, one by Colby Guinta followed by Stewart's second 3-pointer of the afternoon, followed by an Amanda DeAngelis layup restored an eight-point advantage for the host, 36-28, 2:16 into the third quarter.

Gordon used two straight buckets from the behind-the-arc to slice the distance down to two. From there, the teams would go hoop-for-hoop and a one-point game, 45-44, stood, as the game headed to the fourth.

The Fighting Scots continued their comeback attempt and six unanswered points by Gordon leveled the playing field at 51 with 4:28 left on the clock.
