BOSTON – On a three-game win streak, Suffolk women's basketball welcomes Salve Regina to Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court Tuesday, Jan. 10 for a 5:30 p.m. Commonwealth Coast Conference contest.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's basketball has yet to lose in its second semester portion of its 2022-23 schedule as all eight Rams that took Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court Saturday afternoon contributed at least one point to a 67-55 Commonwealth Coast Conference victory over Curry.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk has won all three of its games in its second semester action to hold an 8-4 overall mark and 4-2 CCC record.  

Amanda DeAngelis is one of the main ingredients to the Rams success this season. The junior averages a double-double of 17.7 points and 10.8 rebounds per game to anchor Suffolk's 65.2 ppg scoring and 46.2 rpg effort. Katie Kirsch has proven to be a two-way player as well with 9.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per outing to her credit. Colby Guinta and Maddie Stewart supply 11.9 ppg and 10.6 ppg, respectively. 

SEAHAWKS SAYINGS
Salve Regina fell to Roger Williams (69-57) and Western New England (50-41) in its last two games to sit 8-5 overall and 3-3 in CCC contests.  

Briana Neary and Ashley Rourke pace the Seahawks 59.2 points per game offensive output. Neary's 15.7 ppg leads the way, while Rourke's 10.3 ppg is good for second on the squad.  

Defensively, Megan Henaghan's 8.3 rpg paces SRU's 41.7 rpg effort. Briana Neary adds 7.8 rpg and Sofia Neary pitches in 6.3 rpg. As a team, the Seahawks are outrebounding their foes, by a 3.6 margin. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk has won four games in a row against Salve Regina to grab a 7-5 lead in the all-time series. 
  • Currently, the Rams are on the longest win-streak versus the Seahawks in the all-time series. 
  • Suffolk is 2-2 when hosting Salve Regina. 
  • On the road, the Rams sport a 3-1 record versus the Seahawks. 
  • The teams have played at a neutral site once, Dec. 30, 2006. Suffolk won that game, 44-41.

RAMS RECOGNITION
Suffolk women's basketball's Amanda DeAngelis averaged a double-double of 21.7 points and 12.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 46.9 percent in a 3-0 week for the Rams en route to Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the week, the league office announced Monday.
