HOW IT HAPPENED
Down 14-5, Suffolk was forced into a timeout early in the first frame. The Rams managed to pull back within one possession, 20-17, thanks to an 8-2 run. The Gulls scored the final three points of the first quarter to restore the multi-possession margin, 23-17.

Endicott controlled the first few minutes of the seconds stanza as it gained a 32-23 advantage and once again Ed Leyden used a timeout. This time Suffolk sprang out of the huddle. The Rams held the host without a field goal over the final 7:23 and scored 20 points themselves to take a comfortable double-digit cushion, 43-33, into the locker room.

Endicott ended its field goal draught just 46 seconds into the third quarter and chipped the Rams lead down to three, 48-45, at the 5:17 minute mark. DeAngelis took over for the blue-and-gold as the junior sparked a 9-2 Suffolk stretch to restore the 10-point distance, 57-47, with 2:45 left on the clock in the stanza. Back-and-forth action allowed the Rams to remain in front at the end of 30 minutes, 62-53.

A traditional three-point play from Sarah Dempsey pulled the host back within two possessions early in the fourth frame.

Suffolk stayed in front despite multiple Gulls comeback attempts. Colby Guinta and Madi Mahoney went 5-for-5 at the charity stripe over a 23-second span to make it a 74-62 game with less than four minutes to play.

Katelyn Konareski made a triple in transition looking to spark something for the host, however, that would be the last Endicott bucket. It was all Suffolk from there as DeAngelis poured in four more points and Mahoney converted a trip to the free throw line to two points for the 80-65 final.
