BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball looks to return to the win column Saturday, Dec. 3 when it takes its talents to Beverly, Massachusetts, for a Commonwealth Coast Conference showdown at Endicott at 1 p.m.

A sluggish second half, paired with foul trouble, caused Suffolk women's basketball to stumble to western New England, 62-52, in its Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener, Wednesday night at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk saw its four-game win streak end in its CCC opener Wednesday as the Rams fell to Western New England, 62-52, to move to 4-2 on the year and 0-1 in league play.  

Amanda DeAngelis is on the verge of averaging a double-double with team-best numbers in points (16.3) and rebounds (9.7) per game. Colby Guinta and Maddie Stewart put up double figures in scoring as well with 14.3 ppg and 12.2 ppg, respectively. Katie Kirsch, who scores 7.8 ppg, is second on the squad on the boards with 8.0 rpg to her credit to help the blue-and-gold bring down 43.9 rpg and out rebound its foes by a 3.8 margin.

Endicott has coupled wins together including its CCC debut, a 68-59 decision at Salve Regina, to bring a 3-2 overall record and 1-0 league mark into Saturday's action.  

The trio of Sarah Dempsey (16.8 ppg, 7.8 rpg), Tara Laugeni (14.8 ppg, 9.8 rpg) and Emily St. Thomas (11.6 ppg, 4.2 apg 6.8 rpg) are the main points of conversation for the Gulls offense and defense.

  • Suffolk is 13-16 all-time against Endicott in a series that dates back to 1993-94. 
  • The Rams defeated Endicott, 58-51, in the last meeting, Feb. 19, 2022.
