BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball rides its four-game win streak into its 2022-23 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) debut, a Wednesday, Nov. 30 midweek match with Western New England. Tip-off at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
In a game that featured 12 lead exchanges and 11 tied scores, Suffolk women's basketball came out on top of MIT, 75-72, Monday night at the Rockwell Cage.

RAMS RUNDOWN
After falling in its season-opener a 63-51 decision against Bridgewater State, the Rams have rattled off four wins in a row to bring a 4-1 ledge into Wednesday's outing.  

Amanda DeAngelis powers the Rams on both sides of the ball as the junior averages a 17.2-point, 11.0-rebound double-double. Colby Guinta and Maddie Stewart contribute double figures in scoring as well with 15.4 ppg and 12.2 ppg, respectively, while, Katie Kirsch supplies 8.4 rpg.  

GET TO KNOW THE GOLDEN BEARS
Western New England sits 1-5 on the year. The lone win on the Golden Bears' scheduled is a 57-50 triumph over Widener Nov. 11. WNE has fallen in four in a row 

Lindsey Carey and Abby Garaban provide a one-two punch to Western New England's 54.2 offensive output. The former leads the way with 11.8 ppg with the latter chipping in 10.8 ppg. Defensively, Colleen Furlong's 4.3 rpg leads the way with Carey and Garaban both adding 3.7 rpg. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk and Western New England will meet for the 15th time Wednesday with the series dating back to 1995-96. 
  • The Rams lead the all-time series, 8-6. 
  • Last year, Suffolk and WNE split their regular-season action. The blue-and-gold picked up the first tangle via. 65-55 decision Dec. 4, 2021, before falling to the Golden Bears 67-58 Jan. 22, 2022. 
  • All 14 meetings have come under Ed Leyden's leadership. 
  • In Boston, the Rams are 4-3 when hosting WNE. 
  • Suffolk is 4-3 against WNE in Springfield, Massachusetts.

CCC OPENERS

  • Suffolk began its true tenure in the CCC a year ago. 
  • The Rams have yet to begin its CCC calendar in the win column after falling to the University of New England, 54-52, in its CCC debut last season, Dec. 1, 2021. 
  • Suffolk will lift the lid on its CCC campaign at home for the first time. 
  • The Rams will tangle with Western New England in its first CCC outing of the year for the first time.  

LEAGUE DEBUTS

  • Suffolk is 17-11 (0-2 NEWAC / 17-8 GNAC / 0-1 CCC) all-time in its first conference contest of the season. 
  • Under Ed Leyden, the Rams sport a 17-10 record in its first league outing of a year. 
  • In its conference debut, the blue-and-gold is 10-3 at home, 6-6 on the road and 1-0 at a neutral site. The location of the league openers for the NEWAC is unknown. 
  • Suffolk has gone into overtime in its first conference contest of the year once, a double overtime 62-57 triumph over Johnson & Wales Jan. 7, 2012. 
  • The Rams begin their league calendar in November for the second time in program history first since the 2017-18 campaign.

Colby Guinta of the Suffolk women's basketball team repeated as Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week after her offensive output in the Rams' 75-72 victory over MIT November 21.
