HOW IT HAPPENED
UNE built a 6-3 edge into a 13-5 advantage with 2:07 left in the opening quarter. Suffolk took control from there scoring the final eight points of the frame to tied things up at 13-all. Allie Lopes and Amanda DeAngelis contributed four points apiece to the scoring stretch.

Things stayed close in the second until the Nor'Easters broke up a 19-19 game with nine unanswered points to put the blue-and-gold in a 28-19 hole at the midway point. Suffolk could not put a rally together to chip away at the gap and the Rams found themselves down 41-26 at half time.

The Nor'Easters poured in the first seven points of the third stanza to extend their lead even further, 48-26. The Rams managed to make a comeback and chipped the distance down to 13, 55-42, with 3:54 remaining on the clock in the third.

UNE ended the third quarter on a 9-3 run to regain a comfortable cushion near 20-point cushion, 64-45.

The Rams comeback hopes were stalled in the fourth as the teams traded hoops to keep the ground too large to make up.
