Women’s Basketball Runs Past Gordon, 76-44

BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball put on a show at home as the Rams coasted over Gordon, 76-44, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Tuesday night.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 76 | Gordon 44
RECORDS: Suffolk (10-5, 4-4 CCC) | Gordon (6-6, 3-2 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
After trading hoops to get things started, the lead flopped back-and-forth four times before Gabriella DeComo laid in a hoop to give Suffolk for the final time 3:02 into the game. That bucket from the captain ignited a 6-0 Rams stretch that gave the hosts an 11-6 cushion.

After Gordon put in a pair of freebies, Suffolk really put an exclamation point on the opening quarter as it wrapped up the frame with a 14-0 run to take a 25-8 advantage into the second.

The Fighting Scots, who went scoreless over the final five minutes of the first frame, could not connect for the first half of the second stanza as well. That scoring lull from Gordon allowed Suffolk to pile on more points and take a 43-20 cushion into half time.

The Rams kept up the momentum in the third. Suffolk's lead blossomed to 28, an advantage that remained at the end of 30 minutes of play in Boston, 61-33.

Thanks to their early work, Suffolk was able to cruise in the fourth frame for the 76-44 victory.
