CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Amanda DeAngelis of the Suffolk women's basketball team took home both Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player and Rookie of the Week honors after her standout performance against Nichols, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

DeAngelis, a sophomore from Londonderry, New Hampshire, had a monster game against the Bison with a double-double of 29 points and 22 rebounds, while shooting 56.5 percent (13-23) from the field. It was the first double-double of the forward's collegiate career and marked the most boards by a Ram in a single game since Alexis Hackett brought down 19 against Johnson & Wales Feb. 20, 2018.

DeAngelis is the second Ram to collect a weekly award from the CCC this season as Jenni-Rose DiCecco earned the best player over a seven-day stretch title Nov. 29, 2021. DeAngelis, is the first player to take home rookie of the week honors since DiCecco garnered her eighth GNAC Rookie of the Week nod Feb. 19, 2018.

DeAngelis and the Rams are in store for a two-game week that is set to tip-off at Curry, Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 5:30 p.m.
