BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball gets back into action Tuesday, Jan. 4 when the Rams welcome the Bison of Nichols toLarry E. and Michael S. Smith Court for a 5:30 p.m. Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) clash.

SUFFOLK ATHLETICS 2021-22 FAN POLICY
Suffolk University Athletics, following guidance from the University's health and safety protocols, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, plans to allow fans to attend home athletic contests during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year.

Fans, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, can attend games. They must be masked the entire time they are on campus, pursuant to institutional policy, and complete a health screening form at the security desk of each building upon arrival. This policy applies to home contests played on campus at the Ridgeway Building's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, as well as the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink and the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

For outdoor outings, specifically at East Boston Memorial Park, fans are asked to respect COVID safety protocols. At this time, masks will not be mandated for fans no matter vaccinated status at outdoor venues.

LAST TIME OUT
Jenni-Rose DiCecco entered Friday's game one-point shy of passing the Rams' all-time scoring leader Katie Norton '00. The graduate student quickly claimed the blue-and-gold's prestigious title as she connected on a hoop 9:31 into the action against Fisher to become Suffolk women's basketball's all-time leading scorer on her home hardwood, Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, in front of Ram Nation.   

DiCecco, who now has 1,533 career points, paved the way in the Rams' 76-43 triumph over the Falcons Friday night that wrapped up Suffolk's first semester calendar.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk wrapped up first semester with a convincing 76-43 win over Fisher Dec. 10 to improve to 7-3 on the season. 

The Rams 69.5 points per game offensive output is paced by Jenni-Rose DiCecco's 14.8 ppg. The floor general provides 4.8 apg to the scoring as well that receives 9.9 ppg from Allie Lopes. Gabriella DeComo and Natalie Fraioli provide 8.3 ppg and 8.1 ppg, respectively.

Defensively, Suffolk has shined on the glass, outrebounding its foes by an 8.7 caroms per outing margin. Emily Welling leads the squad's 47.9 rpg effort with 7.8 rpg of her own. Amanda DeAnglis supplies 6.2 rpg.

BISON BREAKDOWN
Nichols slipped to Salve Regina, 80-73, in its first semester finale Dec. 9 to move to .500 on the year (5-5) and 1-2 in CCC clashes. 

The Bison have the best offense in the CCC to date with 73.4 points per contest anchored by Summer Klein's league-leading 17.4 ppg. Abrianna Vazquez is not only second on the squad with 16.0 ppg, but is second in the conference as well.  Leandra Ortiz pitches in double figures to the scoring system with 13.4 ppg. 

Klein is the biggest threat on the glass as well as her 7.1 rpg anchors Nichols' 38.7 rpg effort. Jillian Spillane adds 6.8 rpg and Hadley Houghton grabs 5.3 rpg.

INSIDE THE SERIES

• Suffolk split its home-and-home series with Nichols a year ago to move to 9-12 in the all-time series.
• The Rams fell in the last meeting, 69-56, in Dudley, Massachusetts, a day after defeating the Bison by 55 points in a 101-46 win in Boston.
• Suffolk holds a 7-4 mark against Nichols in Beantown.
• The Rams are 4-1 against the Bison under Ed Leyden's leadership.
• Suffolk and Nichols have never needed extra time to determine a winner in the all-time series, which dates back to 1979.
