CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Jenni-Rose DiCecco of the Suffolk women's basketball team picked up Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week after her standout effort in a convincing 87-28 win at Fitchburg State last Tuesday, the league office announced Monday.

DiCecco, a point guard from Falmouth, Massachusetts, scored 22 points in the Rams' non-conference victory over the Falcons. The graduate student shot 57.1 percent (8-14) from the field, which included a 2-for-4 showing from 3-point land and a 4-for-5 effort at the charity stripe. In addition to her offensive output, she grabbed five rebounds, had six steals and handed out two assists.

The weekly honor marks the first for Suffolk in the CCC era and is the first since Natalie Fraioli was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week Jan. 3, 2019. DiCecco was tabbed a conference's best player for the second time in her career, first since she garnered GNAC Player of the Week Dec. 10, 2018. Overall, the weekly accolade marks the 11th of her career with a pair of player of the week nods, one by the CCC and GNAC, respectively, and nine rookie of the week distinctions, eight from the GNAC and one from the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA).

DiCecco and the Rams will now turn their attention to their CCC calendar which lifts up at the University of New England Wednesday, Dec. 1. Tip-off between Suffolk and the Nor'Easters is set for 5:30 p.m.
