BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball heads northbound on I-93 to take on Plymouth State at Foley Gymnasium, Saturday, Nov. 20 for a matinee matchup at 12 p.m.

SUFFOLK ATHLETICS 2021-22 FAN POLICY
Suffolk University Athletics, following guidance from the University's health and safety protocols, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, plans to allow fans to attend home athletic contests during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year.

Fans, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, can attend games. They must be masked the entire time they are on campus, pursuant to institutional policy, and complete a health screening form at the security desk of each building upon arrival. This policy applies to home contests played on campus at the Ridgeway Building's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, as well as the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink and the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

For outdoor outings, specifically at East Boston Memorial Park, fans are asked to respect COVID safety protocols. At this time, masks will not be mandated for fans no matter vaccinated status at outdoor venues.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's basketball strung its second straight victory together as all dozen Rams provided to the 71-38 victory over Colby Sawyer Wednesday night at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk carried the momentum from their Salem State win earlier in the week into an 81-65 victory against Colby Sawyer Wednesday night to improve to 3-1 on the year.  

Emily Welling has provided a boost on both ends of the floor this season with a team-high 10.8 rpg, while also contributing 8.3 ppg. Her defensive presence has been felt with a team best 1.8 bpg to go along with 1.3 spg.  

The Rams have had no shortage of offense so far with four players averaging double figures in Jenni-Rose DiCecco (11.3),  Allie Lopes (10.5), Gabriella DeComo  (10.0) and Maddie Stewart (10.0). Natalie Fraioli adds to the scoring as well with 9.5 ppg.

Fraioli trails Welling on the boards with 7.0 rpg of her own. The pair of seniors lead the Rams' 55.8 rpg effort. As a team, Suffolk is outrebounding opponents by 16.8 boards per contest.

PANTHERS PICTURE
Plymouth State is 1-2 on the year. The Panthers fell in their road battles at Northern Vermont Johnson and Eastern Nazarene, but picked up the win on their home court in the form of a 67-65 decision over Westfield State. 

Sabrina Vlahovic paces the Panthers offense as the only player averaging double figures with 14.7 ppg. She is second on the squad on the defensive end as well with 7.7 rpg. Autumn Nelson leads Plymouth State's 46.3 rpg effort with 8.0 caroms per outing herself. She adds 7.0 ppg to the scoring unit as well that receives 9.0 ppg from Jessica Ruiz and 8.7 ppg from Jalen Cook.

  • Plymouth State is one of Suffolk's oldest opponents, dating back to Rams' second-ever season, 1984-85. 
  • The foes competed in four games over three straight years from 1984-87. The Panthers won those four meetings. 
  • Suffolk and PSU renewed the rivalry Nov. 23, 2019 in Boston and the Rams took their first win in the series, 72-61.
