Trio Added to Women’s Basketball Roster for 2021-22

2021-22 SUFFOLK WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ROSTER 

BOSTON – Three new players will give Suffolk women's basketball a boost in 2021-22 as head coach Ed Leyden brought in a trio of fresh faces to add to the mix. 

A pair of true freshmen in Aisling Crowley and Maddie Stewart will make their collegiate debuts at Suffolk, while Marissa Gattuso has brought her talents to Beacon Hill as a graduate student after beginning her career at Merrimack. 

With the new additions, Suffolk's squad is transitioning into a new era and will compete in the competitive Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). The Rams' 41st season is just under two weeks away and will tip off at the Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court Tuesday, Nov. 2 in a Beantown battle with at Emerson at 7 p.m.

Letterwinner at Braintree and captained the team as a senior … Led Braintree to back-to-back MIAA D1 Massachusetts State Championships … Also lettered in volleyball … Earned Seal of Biliteracy in 2021 … Volunteered with Best Buddies from 2017 to 2021 … Belonged to Students Against Destructive Decisions for four years.

Began her collegiate career at Merrimack … Competed in 75 games with the Warriors … Totaled 108 points, 85 rebounds, 111 assists and 63 steals.

Four-year letterwinner at Woburn … Led Woburn to four Middlesex League Championships … Finished with 1,217 career points at Woburn … 2017 Middlesex League MVP … One of five players in Massachusetts to be named to the Boston Herald "Dream Team" … Two-time All-Star … Two-time Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic honoree …  Also lettered in soccer and tennis.

Letterwinner at Kennett and captained the team as a senior ... NHIAA D2 All-State First-Team selection in 2021 ... Also lettered in field hockey and served as captain as a senior.
