Women's Basketball Cruise in 67-34 Victory

Eleven players registered on the scoring sheet as the Suffolk University Women's Basketball team rolled to a 67-34 victory over the Mount Ida College Mustangs in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Thursday evening.

Four players registered double digit scoring totals for the Rams as senior Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) finished with a team-high 13 points on the evening.

Junior Shelby Santini (Winchester, Mass.) scored 12 points on the evening, while freshmen Georgia Bourikas (Hull, Mass.) and Kelsey Schiebel (Windham, N.H.) rounded things out with 10 points each for the Rams who now improve to an 11-8 overall mark on the season, and 5-2 record in conference action.

A massive 19-0 run through the first half would pace Suffolk as they connected on four three-pointers during the scoring streak to ease to a 40-17 lead at the break. The Rams wouldn't relent in the second half either as they finished the game holding the Mustangs to a 25.5-percent shooting clip from the field as a team in the contest.

Bourikas and junior Tori Brillaud (North Andover, Mass.) each grabbed nine rebounds a piece in the game as Suffolk held a 51-24 edge on the glass in the contest.

Suffolk will now travel to Johnson & Wales University on Saturday afternoon for a 3:00pm tipoff against the Wildcats in GNAC action.
