Women's Basketball Earn Second Seed in GNAC Playoffs

The Suffolk University Women's Basketball team (15-9, 10-2 GNAC) will enter the 2010-11 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) playoffs as the second seed. The Rams will host the Mount Ida College Mustangs who finished as the number seven seed with a 5-7 conference record.

The Rams defeated the Mustangs earlier in the season 66-42 on January 27.

The Rams finished the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 85-53 victory over the Albertus Magnus Falcons.

Freshman Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) scored 21 points in the win for the Rams. The Rams had 13 of their 14 players who appeared in the game score points. Junior Meghan Black (Roslindale, Mass.) had eight points and a team-high eight rebounds and three blocks, while freshman Jessica Bard (Harleysville, Pa.) also had eight rebounds and three blocks on six points.

The Rams will host the Mustangs at 7:00pm on Tuesday evening at the Regan Gymnasium.
