BOSTON – After a weekend away from action, Suffolk softball is in store for back-to-back battles. First the Rams will clash with Curry in a doubleheader Tuesday, April 9 at 3:00 p.m., before a Beantown twinbill battle at Emmanuel Wednesday, April 10 at 5:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk softball's nightcap against Salem State came down to the wire. Despite an early deficit, the Rams managed to bring the game-winning run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh, but the Vikings held off the host comeback to hand the blue-and-gold a 11-8 game two setback at East Boston Memorial Park.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk boasts a 9-11 overall record and 1-1 CCC ledger after splitting twinbills with Western New England and Salem State.  

Four different Rams' bats have provided 20-plus hits in Ella Turnbull (22), Julia Mills (25), Catherine Carignan (21) and Lily Gustafson (22). Turnbull has brought in a team-best 20 RBI, while Mills is responsible for 16 RBI. Maddie Southers has scored a squad-high 21 runs with Gustafson in a close second with 19 RBI. 

Lily Newhall sports a 2.95 ERA over 47.1 innings in 12 appearances, six starts, with 21 Ks. Cynthia Rucinski is the other go-to starter for Suffolk. In 42.2 innings over 11 appearances, nine starts, the freshman has assembled a 5.41 ERA with a staff-best 32 punchouts.  

COLONELS CATCHUP
Curry has fallen in four straight contests to bring a 9-9 overall record and 0-4 CCC mark into Tuesday's action.  

Jillian Rogers' bats lead the way with 21 hits behind a .420 connection rate for a team-high 11 RBI. Madelyn White has knocked 20 hits and brought in six runs, while Jordan Ferullo is responsible for 16 hits and eight runs.  

Jillian Rogers appears to be the Colonels ace. In 59.2 innings of work over eight games, four starts, she has put together a 3.05 ERA with 78 strikeouts. Caitlyn Wood has 40.2 innings under her belt with a 4.65 ERA and 25 strikeouts.

SAINTS SAYINGS
Emmanuel swept Anna Maria Sunday to hold a 7-9 overall mark.  

Olivia Conti has brought I n17 runs on 14 hits on a .292 batting average to pace the Saints at the plate. Taylor Chelak has chipped in 18 hits, nine RBI and a team-high 17 runs scored. Both Conti and Chelak have stolen six bases. 

Mackenzie Briggs and Madison Marks split time as Emmanuel's starters in the circle. Marks boasts a 3.14 ERA with 56 strikeouts over 51.1 innings, while Briggs brings in a 4.88 ERA and 18 Ks in 43.0 innings.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk and Emmanuel are friendly foes as Boston neighbors and old conference counterparts. 
  • The Rams are 45-24 all-time against the Saints.
