BOSTON – Suffolk softball is set to play in New England for the first time in 2024 Friday, March 22 when it visits cross city rival Emerson. Game one of the double feature is set to start at 2:00 p.m. at Rotch Field.

Suffolk softball concluded its time at The Spring Games with a 10-4 setback to Montclair State Friday night at Legends Way.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk went 5-7 over its 12-games at The Spring Games in Florida March 8-15.  

Ella Turnbull's bat leads the way with 16 hits, nine RBI and three runs scored. The junior is hitting .372. Catherine Carignan and Julia Mills both have produced 14 hits and seven RBI. The former has scored six runs and the latter has four runs to her credit. 

In the circle, Turnbull holds a 2.74 ERA over 15.1 innings with 12 strikeouts. Cynthia Rucinski has pitched the most innings with 26.2 frames of work over seven appearances, six starts. She holds a 4.99 ERA and a staff-best 19 punchouts. Lily Newhall has assembled a 5.91 ERA in 21.1 innings with 10 Ks. 

LIONS LOOK
Emerson has rattled off three victories together over MCLA (1-0), Alfred State (13-3) and RIT (6-1) to carry a 7-3 overall record into Friday's action.  

Sam Zannotti and Riley Caiazza has each supplied 12 hits to the Lions 83-hit offense. The former brought in six runs and scored eight herself, while the latter is responsible for nine RBI and seven runs scored. Makenzie Killough has brought in a team-best 13 runs on 10 hits, half of which have been doubles. She has added five runs. 

Emerson uses three different twirlers in Kate Regan (1.08 ERA, 13.0 IP, 4 Ks), Caleigh Sheehan (1.71 ERA, 28.2 IP, 22 Ks) and Jessica Gomez (3.55 ERA, 23.2 IP, 23 Ks). 

INSIDE THE SERIES
