HOW IT HAPPENED
A Suffolk errors, sone hit and a sac fly allowed MSOE to build a 2-0 lead in the first.

The Rams responded with a four-run second to go in front. The blue-and-gold used three hits and a Raiders throwing mishap to grab the advantage. Ella Turnbull led off with a single to center and scored when Lily Gustafson doubled. Two batters later, Diana Rucinski laid down a bunt to move the runners over, but luckily for Suffolk Sadie Gaberell overthrew first and two runners scored on the error. With the bases full, Catherine Carignan's single to center brought in the tying run scored by Maddie Southers, who wore a pitch to reach safely.

The Raiders regained the edge in the home half of the second with three runs on four hits. Base hits and walks helped Suffolk level the playing field at 5-all in the top of the third.

Three hits, one for extra bases, and an erratic pitch by Rams reliever Ashlyn Conley helped MSOE grab a 7-5 lead in the bottom of the third. The Raiders tacked on another run in the fourth to extend the edge to three.

One run was exchanged in the sixth to keep the gap at three. Southers, who double down the left field line to get the inning underway, came around the bases on Julia Mills single to center field.
