Softball Splits Doubleheader with Curry

MILTON, Mass. – Suffolk softball split its twinbill with Curry Friday afternoon. The Rams shutout the Colonels in game one, 1-0, and fell in the nightcap, 4-1, at D. Forbes Will Field.

GAME 1: Suffolk 1 | Curry 0
Ava Brandow
 shoved a four-hit, three-walk, two-strikeout, complete-game shutout to keep Curry (17-20, 5-11 CCC) off the scoreboard.
The only scoring Suffolk (10-20, 7-9 CCC) needed came in the first inning. Caitlin Murphy drew a lead-off walk and stole second to get into scoring position. With one out, Lily O'Neil barreled a double to left center to trade places with Murphy and put the blue-and-gold on the board, 1-0.

GAME 2: Suffokl 1 | Curry 4
Curry capitalized on four Rams errors in the second stanza to grab a 2-0 edge.

The Rams sliced the gap in half in the home half of the fifth. Ira Boci hit a one-out single to third and moved over on a productive ground out from O'Neil. Boci used Savannah Scripter's single to right center to put Suffolk on the board.

After a scoreless sixth, Curry tacked on two more runs in the top of the seventh.

Down three, Jillian Rogers came in to twirler for the Colonels and retired the Rams in order to setback Suffolk.
