BOSTON – Suffolk softball is back in New England is set to get its home calendar underway Friday, March 24 when it welcomes Boston Commons neighbor Emerson to East Boston Memorial Park for a double feature. Game one is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk went 1-7 on its spring break trip to the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Rams lone victory came over familiar foe St. Joseph (Conn.), 10-4.  

Savannah Scripter's bat looks to lead Suffolk back to victory as the senior has 10 hits behind a .400 average with three RBI. Freshman Maddie Southers has brought in five runs on nine hits with four runs scored to her credit. Ally Cifaratta rounds out the top threats at the dish with eight hits, two RBI and four runs scored. 

In the circle, Ella Turnbull (5.55 ERA, 17.2 IP, 14 K) and Ashlyn Conley (6.00 ERA, 4.2 IP, 1 K) have proven to be the most successful twirlers for Suffolk. Ava Brandow (8.40 ERA, 13 K) has seen the most time on the rubber with 20.0 innings under her belt. 

LIONS LOOK
Emerson looks to snap a three-game skid that put the Lions at 6-4 on the year.  

Claire Overton is a force at the plate for the Lions with 14 hits, including six doubles, on a .438 average with nine RBI and seven runs. Makenzie Killough has brought in the most runs, 10, on eight hits including two jacks, with a team-best 10 runs scored herself. Mackenzie Rice, Sam Zannotti and Kit Zenga have all contributed nine hits to the offense.   

Pitching wise, Emerson has two usual starters, Jessica Gomez and Kit Zenga. Gomez holds a 1.97 ERA in 32.0 innings of work with 33 strikeouts. Zenga, meanwhile, brings in a 4.00 ERA in 21.0 innings and 11 Ks.
