BOSTON – Suffolk softball returns to East Boston Memorial Park Wednesday, April 13 for a midweek match with Western New England. The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) doubleheader has a 3 p.m. game one first pitch.

Suffolk softball's bats lacked vigor, while the University of New England's struck early and often, which resulted in an 11-0, five-inning Rams setback in the nightcap of a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) double feature Sunday after Nor'Easter Diamond.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk added a win and a loss to their ledger after a split with UNE on Sunday to move to 14-6 on the year in 5-1 in the CCC. 

Ava Brandow has been an RBI machine, bringing in a team high 22, as well as leading the team in hits with 24 and home runs with three. The freshman is slashing .393/.422/.623. Fellow freshman Jolie Quintana has also been slugging the ball herself, posting a team-best nine doubles to go along with averages of .339/.387/.554. Senior Bianca Luciano has compiled 16 base hits for a team-leading .457 average at the plate.

In the circle, Suffolk's staff has compiled a 2.90 ERA led by Jenny Jacob (1.00), Brandow (3.18) and Alexa White (3.25). In eight appearances and six starts, Jacob owns a 5-1 mark with one save in 42.0 frames of work with a team-best 47 strikeouts. Brandow, meanwhile, is 2-2 with one save in her 22.0 innings with 17 punchouts. White has appeared six times for the Rams including four starts, going 3-2 and striking out 20 batters.   

GOLDEN BEAR GOODS
Western New England brings its perfect 2-0 road record to Eastie on Wednesday, looking to build on a 15-8 overall record and 5-1 league ledger.

Dina DiBlasio is the leader at the plate for the Golden Bears with a .475 average, .470 on-base and .738 slugging percentage. The senior has knocked 38 hits, including three home runs, for 20 RBI and 20 runs scored. Alex Ferriouolo, a freshman who is batting .407, brings 22 hits, 12 RBI, 15 runs scored, and three home runs into Wednesday's match. Taylor Keegan finishes off the top trio in the box with 27 hits and eight runs batted in behind a .365 average to go along with a team-best 22 runs scored. 

Western New England has relied heavily on two arms through 23 games. Megan Beebe brings in staff-best numbers in ERA (2.46), strikeouts (70) and innings pitched (65.1) with a record of 6-4 in 10 starts, with two saves and six complete games. Ava Blanchard leads the team with a 7-1 record to go along with a 2.59 ERA in 54.0 frames.
