BOSTON – Suffolk softball will make the trip up to Biddeford, Maine, Sunday, April 10 to take on the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action. The doubleheader will begin at 12 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Trailing by eight as the game headed to the bottom of the seventh, Suffolk softball put its rally caps on, scored six, and had the tying run at the plate. The Rams game-two rally was put to rest by the Lynx middle infield that preserved Lesley's 15-13 triumph at East Boston Memorial Park.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk's ledger moved to 13-5 on the year after splitting its non-conference twinbill with Lesley Tuesday. The Rams took game one, 6-2, before their comeback came up short in the nightcap, 15-13. The blue-and-gold is back against CCC competition after sweeping its league-opening weekend at Nichols and Gordon.  

Ava Brandow's everyday bat paves the way with the freshman barreling a .393/.414/.643 with 22 hits, 22 RBI and eight runs scored. Ally Cifaratta also 20 hits to her credit behind a .357 average. The third baseman has scored eight times and brought in three runs. Caitlin Murphy (19 H, 7 RBI, 13 R, 10 SB) and Jolie Quintana (19 H, 10 RBI, 14 R) are consistent contributors at the plate.  

Pitching wise, Jenny Jacob and Brandow anchor Suffolk's staff, who has combined for a 2.50 ERA. Jacob brings in a 1.03 ERA over 34.0 innings in seven appearances, five starts, four of which were complete games. The junior right-handed twirler has 41 Ks and boasts a 4-1 record with one save. Brandow, meanwhile, brings in a 1.67 ERA that she built in 21.0 innings over four appearances, including two starts. She has sat down 15 batters. Kennedy Reyes (2.41 ERA, 20.1 IP, 12 K) and Alexa White 3.25 ERA, 23.2 IP, 20 K) add depth on the rubber. 

NOR'EASTER NOTES
UNE has won three games in a row to carry a 9-13 overall record and 3-1 CCC mark into the weekend, which it opens at Endicott on Saturday.  

Abby Miner paces the pack at the plate with 23 hits and 18 RBI on a .338 average. Megan Chamberlain, who is batting .333, is second on the squad with 17 hits and 15 RBI. Taylor Depot rounds out the top three offensive threats with 19 hits, 11 runs scored and a pair of RBI. 

The Nor'Easters have used four different wings in the circle this season. Jordan Strum and Kate Wilmont split the starting role for the most part. Strum boasts a 4.03 ERA in 74.2 innings of work over 15 appearances, eight starts, with 46 strikeouts. Wilmont, meanwhile, brings in a 5.67 ERA in 45.2 frames in 10 appearances and six nods. Alie Martel has started six games as well and boasts a 6.90 ERA with 19 punchouts. Mackenzie Susko (6.1 IP, 12.16 ERA, 2 K) completes the quartet of hurlers for UNE.
