HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk broke open a scoreless game in the top of the second. Ally Cifaratta doubled to right center and cruised on behind Delaney Doidge's single to second. Doidge moved into scoring position on Jacob's 6-3 ground out and the first baseman came in when Lily Gustafson singled to left to give the visitor's a 2-0 lead.

Two and a half innings later, Jolie Quintana collected an RBI on a base hit to right field to extend the edge to three. Quintana brought in Rebecca Gonzalez, who led of the top of the fifth with a walk.

Emerson, who saw at least one base runner in the home half of the fifth and sixth stanza, had a flair for the dramatic and waited to get on the board until the bottom of the seventh. With one out, Sam Zannotti doubled and found herself on third due to an error by Caitlin Murphy in center field. Jessica Gomez grounded out to short to score Zannotti.
