Endicott Defeats Softball, 6-2, in Nightcap

BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk softball fell to Endicott, 6-2, in game two of a CCC doubleheader Friday night at the Softball Complex.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 2 | Endicott 6
RECORDS: Suffolk (5-9, 3-3 CCC) | Endicott (2-0, 2-0 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first frame Endicott used three straight singles to grab a one-run edge and two innings later the Gulls grabbed a 4-0 advantage.

More runs came for the hosts in the home half of the fifth to make it a 6-0 Endicott score.

With another run-rule looming, Suffolk got on the board in the top of the sixth. Similar to how Endicott broke open the outing with three singles in a row, the blue-and-gold did the same to put all the ducks in the pond. Gulls errors allowed a pair of runners to come in on two different plays to cut the deficit down to four, 6-2.

Constance Phelan kept the score there as the senior took care of business in the circle in the bottom of the sixth. With ground to make up, Ally Cifaratta singled to left field with one out in the hopes of a late rally come. Endicott had other things in mind though and secured the next two outs to seal the double feature sweep.
