Softball Slides to Framingham State in Nightcap, 4-2

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Softball had chance to comeback, but ultimately Framingham State held off the Boston Rams' response to setback Suffolk, 4-2, Sunday afternoon at Maple Street Field.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 2 | Framingham State 4
RECORDS: Suffolk (1-5) | Framingham State (5-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Framingham State pulled ahead 3-0 in the first frame and extended that margin to four runs in the bottom of the third.

Suffolk's offense kept Ram Nation on the edge of its seat until the sixth stanza when ground began to be made up. Caitlin Murphy opened the rally with a single to right field and a FSU error on Bianca Luciano's attempted bunt put visiting Rams runners in the corner. The hosts made a change in the circle, but Ashley Zulla quickly figured out Shannon Ward with a two RBI single up the middle to slice the deficit in half.

Kennedy Reyes kept Framingham off the board in the home half of the inning to set up what could have been a thrilling seventh. Ally Moran came out of FSU's pen and retired Suffolk's side to secure the victory for the hosts.
