LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk softball had to play catch-up from the get-go, took the lead, but it let it go again, which allowed Lasell to capture game two of a non-conference doubleheader, 13-9, Tuesday night at East Boston Memorial Park.

RAMS RUNDOWN
After dropping its season-opening twinbill to Lasell, Suffolk sits 0-2 on the year.

The Rams ran up the runs despite the pair of setbacks with 14 off 22 hits including four for extra bases, which saw Ally Cifaratta put a ball over the fence for the first time in her collegiate career.

Cifaratta's bat is the offense leader as the sophomore boasts a .750/.778/1.375 slash line with six hits including two doubles and one bomb with a squad-best six RBI to go along with three runs scored and one stolen base. Caitlin Murphy is a consistent contributor offensively as well with three hits, five runs scored, four walks and three stolen bases. Leina Belog and Ashley Zulla each produced three hits in the season debut.

The blue-and-gold used three arms in the circle in Belog (2.1 IP, 3.00 ERA, 4 Ks), Constance Phelan (2.1 IP, 12.00 ERA, 1 K) and Kennedy Reyes (9.1 IP, 6.75 ERA, 8 Ks).

FRAMINGHAM STATE FACTS
Framingham State jump started its 2021 season with a doubleheader sweep of Emmanuel, taking game one 7-1, and winning the nightcap, 3-2.

Laela Pepin is the major factor for the Rams' offense as the junior contributed a 4-for-7 showing in the twinbill with the Saints. She had one double and one homer for three RBI and two runs scored. Camille Desrochers and Gwendolyn Carpenter brought in multiple runs as well off one hit. The former had three RBI with the latter producing a pair.

Pitching wise, FSU saw Ally Moran throw a complete-game. The sophomore slung 7.0 innings in which she gave up just one run on three hits and sat down four batters. Pepin (3.0 IP, 4.67 ERA) and Shannon Ward (4.0 IP, 0.00 ERA) split the second game of the Saints' series.
