Men’s Cross Country Finishes 13th at Blugold Invite

COLFAX, Wis.  – Suffolk men's cross country put together a 13th-place performance at the Blugold Invite at Whitetail Golf Course Friday. 

The meet featured some of the toughest competition the Rams have faced this season with three teams currently in the top-15 of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Poll including the podium finishers No. 4 Wisconsin Whitewater, No. 13 St. Olaf and No. 3 Wisconsin La Crosse, who claimed spots one through three, respectively. 

Junior Thomas Novy came through the 8k finisher's chute in 26:15.0 to take 54th in the 257-runner field. 

Sophomores Hayden Green and Sean Jacobsen each claimed spots in the top-100. The former crossed the tape in 26:47.6, with the latter clocking a time of 26:54.0.

Senior Tim Barry logged a 27:04.8, good for 104th, and his classmate Luke Sikora was five spots behind him in 27:11.0. 

Senior Jacob Dubin (27:38.5), freshman Cam Fredette (27:59.4) and junior Connor Hayward (29:24.8) rounded out the Rams on the course. 

RAMS RECORDS

  • Novy (26:15.0), Sikora (27:11.0), Dubin (27:38.5) and Fredette (27:59.4) all notched personal-bests in Wisconsin. 

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Rams are set to host the Suffolk Invitational Saturday, Oct. 14 at Franklin Park. The meet will dual as the Battle for Boston Commons, a head-to-head meet with Emerson.
