Men’s Cross Country Grabs Third at Suffolk Invitational

BOSTON – Suffolk men's cross country compiled a third-place performance at its own meet, the Suffolk Invitational, Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park. 

The Rams averaged a team time of 27:28 to claim third in the 22-team field with 115 points behind Boston University (17) and Plymouth State (82).  

Tim Barry shined individually for the blue-and-gold. The junior captain came through the finisher's chute in a personal-best time of 26:39.3 to take 13th. 

Thomas Novy was not far behind as he crossed the tape in 27:00.3 to claim a spot in the top-20 at 19th.  

Hayden Green's 27:34.8 was good for 28th, while Cole Bolduc compiled a personal-record of 27:37.7 to finish two spots behind Suffolk's sophomore. 

Conor Garrity (28:30.8), Luke Sikora (28:34.6) and Connor Hayward (28:38.1) were all in the 54-58 mix to round out the Rams scorers.  

Justin Turner (28:49.9), Jacob Dubin (29:16.6), Selvin Backert (29:30.2), Jadan Wencesalo (31:07.8), and Michael Najarian (37:11.1) were featured on the course as well as Patrick Lambe (30:27.5), who ran his first collegiate 8k.  

Sufolk now turns its sights to the 2022 CCC Championship, which is on the docket for Saturday, Oct. 29 at Rotary State Park in Biddeford, Maine.
