Csiki-Fejer Collects CCC Runner of the Week

CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Matyas Csiki-Fejer of the Suffolk men's cross country team garnered Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Runner of the Week after his efforts at the Suffolk Invite/Battle for Boston Commons, the league office announced Monday.

Since the Suffolk Invite started in 2018, Csiki-Fejer has not finished lower than second-place at the Rams invitational. This year was no different as the senior from Manchester, Missouri, placed second in a crowded 225-runner field. He ran a 25:24 8k finishing less than a minute behind the leader at Franklin Park, Colby's Tyler Morris. As a team, the Rams registered 231 points, which was good for seventh place.

The weekly accolade is the senior's fourth of the season. He has been tabbed the league's best runner over a seven day stretch every week he has been active in 2021. With his fourth nod, Suffolk now has five weekly honors from the CCC this season as Tim Barry garnered rookie of the week status Sept. 20.

Csiki-Fejer and the Rams will have the next week off to prepare for their first-ever CCC Championships. Suffolk and its conference counterparts converge on Western New England's campus in Springfield, Massachusetts, Saturday, Oct. 30 to race for the league title.
