Men’s Cross Country Holds on to Ninth in USTFCCCA Regional Rankings

NEW ORLEANS – Suffolk men's cross country remained ninth in the East latest edition of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings, the national organization announced. The Rams, who made the program's debut in the initial poll of the 2021 Sept. 14, has remained in the top 10 in the East over the last five weeks. 

The ninth-place pick comes after a rest-week for the blue-and-gold as it prepares for the Suffolk Invite and the Battle of the Boston Common, which is on tap for this weekend, Saturday, Oct. 16 at Franklin Park. The Rams have already race at the future site of the 2021 NCAA Division III East Regional Championships once this year, the 2021 debut, Short Course Classic Sept. 3, 2021. 

The USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strengths with current season results, when applicable, in determining in a rank-order of squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly regional ranking by the USTFCCCA began in 2010.
