Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Sets PRs at Penmen Relays

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Suffolk men's outdoor track & field saw five Rams set new personal records Saturday at the Penmen Relays.

The first personal-best was reset by Turner Mitchell in the 100 as he sprinted in a 11.58. He was joined in the event by Ioan Pereira (12.09) and Brendan Eddy (12.49).

Eddy was one of two Suffolk sprinters to rewrite their personal records in the 200. He ran in the half lap around the track in 26.21, while Andrew Tansil finished the race in 24.93, a career-high. It was Mitchell that shined for the blue-and-gold in the event, however, as he logged a 23.68, good for 14th.

Both Pereira and Tansil tallied personal-best in the 400. The former finished in 54.65 and the latter posted a time of 54.94.

The final PR of the day came for Connor Hayward in the 5000. He put together a 16:28.57 to claim eighth in the 18-runner field.

Matthew McGoldrick represented the Rams in the 800, while Conor Garrity and Michael Najarian both ran the mile.

Owen Campbell and Joshua Catino both competed in the pole vault. Campbell cleared 3.70 to claim fifth, while Catino took 10th with a 3.25 meter showing.

Suffolk will be back in action next weekend, April 19-20, at MIT's Sean Collier Invitational.
