SOMERVILLE, Mass. – Suffolk men's outdoor track & field got its 2024 outdoor season underway at the Tufts Snowflake Classic Saturday at the Dussault Track. The Rams finished 17th in the 17-team field.
RAMS RUNNERS
- Blue-and-gold runners were featured in five different events.
- Andrew Tansil (12.62), Kai Mohammed (12.80) and Brendan Eddy (12.80) all competed in the 100.
- Both Tansil and Eddy made half a lap around the track in the 200. The former clocked a 25.90 and the latter put together a 26.65, respectively.
- Luke Sikora (2:10.47) and Matthew McGoldrick (2:19.04) ran the 800.
- Michael Najarian represented the Rams in the 1500. The sophomore finished in 5:04.55.
- Jose Rivera hurdled the 110 in 20.06.
JUMPERS JIST
- Owen Campbell took seventh in the pole vault. He cleared 3.65 meters.
- Michael Frodelius leapt to 15th in the long jump with a 5.57-meter showing.
- Mohammed registered a 4.74-meter effort in the long jump.
YOU'RE NEW HERE
- Five freshmen made their outdoor debuts in Tansil (100, 200), Eddy (100, 200), McGoldrick (800), Rivera (110 Hurdles) and Frodelius (long jump).
WHAT'S NEXT?
Suffolk splits up next weekend, April 4-6, for two events: the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Virginia and the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invite in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
