Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Pair Pick Up CCC Weekly Awards

CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Suffolk men's outdoor track & field saw two student-athletes recognized by the Commonwealth Coast Conference for their running efforts over the weekend as Thomas Novy was named CCC Track Athlete of the Week and Hayden Green took home CCC Track Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Novy shaved 30 seconds off of his 10k personal-best in the pouring rain at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Virginia. He crossed the line at 31:13.61, placing 18th in the field that featured several Division I teams. His time secured the sophomores spot at the Division III New England Championships and currently ranks 38th on the NCAA DIII Men's Outdoor Qualifying List.

Green set a new personal record at Tufts Snowflake Classic. The first-year runner competed in the 1500 and took second in the 52-runner field with a time of 4:08.28.

Both Novy and Green earned their first weekly awards of the year. The former scooped his second weekly outdoor accolade of his collegiate career as he was named the CCC Track Rookie of the Week a year ago. Novy is the first Ram to earn the Track Athlete of the Week distinction since Matyas Csiki-Fejer did so May 2, 2022, while Green is the first Suffolk student-athlete to grab CCC Track Rookie of the Week since Brady Sorensen took home the award May 2, 2022.

Suffolk will be back in action this weekend at Fitchburg State's Jim Sheehan Invitational Saturday, April 8.
