Csiki-Fejer Impresses in 5k at Duke Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. – Matyas Csiki-Fejer may have been the only NCAA Division III student-athlete to invited to compete at the Duke Invitational and Suffolk's men's outdoor track & field captain made the most of his opportunity as the senior took third in the 5k Friday night at Morris William Stadium.

A native of Manchester, Missouri, competed against some of the best in the country, not DIII, but NCAA Division I and thrived. He coasted to the finish line in 14:09.18 to claim in the 59-runner field that featured foes from Duke, Virginia, Pitt, Boson University, Michigan and many other top DI programs. The Rams' performance is the top time in the event by a student-athlete in DIII this season and sits 21st all-time in DIII history.

Csiki-Fejer, who has already qualified for regionals in the 1500, earned his place in the 5k behind his effort in the Tar Heel State.

Upon returning back to the Bay State, Csiki-Fejer is set to join his squad at next weekend's Penmen Relays Saturday, April 16 in Hookset, New Hampshire.
