  • Csiki-Fejer Named D3CA Region II Student-Athlete of the Year

    Matyas Csiki-Fejer of the Suffolk men’s cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field team was recognized as an inaugural Division III Commissioner’s Association (DIIICA) Region II Student-Athlete of the Year Thursday afternoon.  
  • Men’s Track & Field, Two Rams Recognized for Academics by USTFCCCA

    Suffolk men’s track & field and Michael Balestra and Matyas Csiki-Fejer grabbed academic accolades from the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Rams garnered All-Academic Team, while the senior captains collected All-Academic Athlete status from the national organization.

    For the second time in as many years, Suffolk men’s outdoor track & field’s Michael Balestra and Matyas Csiki-Fejer garnered All-East honors from the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the national organization unveiled. Balestra repeated as an honoree in the hammer, while Csiki-Fejer collected the distinction in the 1500m and 5000m.

    Matyas Csiki-Fejer of the Suffolk men’s outdoor track & field team ended his career as a Ram with an exclamation point as the senior long-distance runner raced to All-American status at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute Saturday.

    After coming away with the inaugural Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship trophy at Saturday’s meet at the Brigham Athletic Complex on the campus of Gordon College, Suffolk men's outdoor track & field saw two Rams land weekly awards, the league office unveiled Monday. Matyas Csiki-Fejer was deemed track athlete of the week for the fourth time this season, while Brady Sorensen’s name was called for the first time this year as the track rookie of the week.
  • CCC Champions: Men's Outdoor Track & Field Wins Inaugural League Title

    Suffolk made history on Saturday (April 30), winning the inaugural Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men’s Track and Field Championship with a team score of 162. The Rams topped the five-team field, outscoring its closest opponent by nearly 40 points.

    For the third time this season, Suffolk men’s outdoor track & field has seen three Rams garnered weekly recognition from the Commonwealth Coast Conference, the league office unveiled Monday afternoon. Matyas Csiki-Fejer and Carter Nevulis garnered track awards as athlete and rookie, respectively, while Michael Balestra picked up his third straight field athlete of the week nod. The accolades come following the blue-and-gold’s outing at MIT’s Sean Collier Invitational.

A dozen different student-athletes notched personal records at the Sherie and Don Morrison Track with five Rams making their outdoor debut in different events.

    Suffolk men’s outdoor track & field saw 10 top-10 finishes at the Monks Invitational Saturday afternoon for the Rams to claim seventh in the 15-team field at the SJC Athletic Complex. 
  • Three Events on Tap for Outdoor Track & Field this Weekend

    Suffolk men’s and women’s outdoor track & field has another eventual weekend in store with three events over April 15-16. First, the Rams will be represented by Thomas Novy and Skyler Spanbauer at Connecticut College’s Stiflen Invitational Friday, with the team splitting up Saturday for the SJC Monks Invitational in Standish, Maine, and the Penmen Relays in Hooksett New Hampshire.

    Matyas Csiki-Fejer may have been the only NCAA Division III student-athlete to invited to compete at the Duke Invitational and Suffolk’s men’s outdoor track & field captain made the most of his opportunity as the senior took third in the 5k Friday night at Morris William Stadium.
