Men’s Indoor Track & Field Finishes Ninth at Husky Invitational 

GORHAM, Maine – Two Rams set new personal best, one of who qualified for NCAA Division III New England Regionals, to lead Suffolk men's indoor track & field to a ninth-place performance at the Husky Invitational Saturday at the USM Field House. 

REGIONAL RAMS

  • Carter Nevulis punched his tickets to regionals in the 55 hurdles. He raced the event in 7.88 in the prelims before taking second in the finals at 8.09. 

JUMPERS JIST

  • Nevulis had the best performance of the four Rams in the long jump. He took seventh after leaping 6.27 meters.
  • Frodelius was four spots behind Nevulis in 11th after going 5.59 meters.
  • Gavin Reid (5.27) and Kai Mohammed (4.49) were featured in the long jump field as well. 

RAMS RECORDS

  • Nevulis' 7.88 prelim time in the 55 hurdles was a personal-best for the senior. 
  • In his season debut, Nico Miele produced a PR in the 400 at 1:00.74. 

YOU'RE NEW HERE

  • The six Suffolk student-athletes in the 31-runner 55-meter dash field – Andrew Tansil (7.17), Ioan Pereira (7.26), Michael Frodelius (7.37), Brendan Eddy (7.48), Jose Rivera (7.61) and Ben Berman (7.63) – all competed in the event for the first time. 
  • Tansil also raced the 200 for the first time. The freshman finished the half lap around the track in 25.66.

Suffolk has two events on its calendar next weekend, Feb. 2-3, Boston University's Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational and the Panther Invitational II at Plymouth State.
