Men’s Indoor Track & Field Send Seven Rams to Regionals

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Seven different student-athletes competed across six different events at New Englands over the weekend at Middlebury.

The seven Rams that competed at regionals are the second-most in program history behind the eight student-athletes at New Englands in 2020. The blue-and-gold had regional participations for the third time, first since 2019-20.

Brady Sorenson had the best showing of all Suffolk individuals. The sophomore from Plymouth, Massachusetts, leaped 6.45 meters in the long jump to take 11th in the 20-participant field.

Sorenson was the only Ram jumper at the meet, while Michael Balestra was the lone Suffolk field athlete. The senior captain logged a 14.46-meter toss in the weight throw to lock up 10th.

Running wise, Tim Barry (4:43.08) and Cole Bolduc (52.25) raced the mile and 400, respectively.

Bolduc was an ingredient to each of the Suffolk's relay teams. He ran along Barry, Selvin Backert and Thomas Novyin the Distance Medley Relay. That group, made up of all underclassmen, combined for a time of 11:04.76.

Bolduc led off the Rams' 4x400 team that feature Robert Solari, Backert and Joshua Durand

Suffolk's indoor student-athletes will have one last chance to earn a spot at NCAAs next weekend at Tufts Final Qualifier Saturday, March 5.
