Men’s Tennis Falls at USJ, 8-1

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Suffolk men's tennis dropped an 8-1 non-conference decision to Saint Joseph (Conn.) Monday at the Elizabeth Ferry Speer Tennis Complex.  

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Blue Jays swept the competitive doubles action. After Daniel Haddad and Joachim Fabre-Nair fell to Jonathan Huot and Tyler Hussey, 8-2 in the second spot, courts three and one wrapped up with identical 8-7 scores in that order.  

In singles, Ryan Boucher bested Hasan Esrawi, in the third slot to set-up match point for the host USJ. 

Nicholas Komari put the Rams on the board with a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 1 over Mateau Silvestre.  

Rams on courts two, five, four and six managed to take the first set in their respective matches, but Blue Jays prevailed in the ensuing two sets to take the games and hand Suffolk the 8-1 setback.

NOTEWORTHY

  • Suffolk and USJ met for the first time. 
  • Komari remains unbeaten in singles action as a Ram, 2-0.
