Men’s Tennis Secures CCC Playoff Spot, Clips Curry, 7-2

BELMONT, Mass. – Suffolk men's tennis locked up a spot in the 2023 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Postseason with a 7-2 victory over Curry Saturday at Belmont Hill.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 7 | Curry 2
RECORDS: Suffolk (3-6, 2-5 CCC) | Curry (0-4, 0-7 CCC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk started with a point on the board in doubles as the Colonels did not field a third court team. The Rams went on to grab victories on the top two courts to take a 3-0 lead into singles action.

Mehdi Mered and Diego Hernandez-Pons teamed up for a golden match over Grant Palmer and Jonny Kopack in the second slot, before Hasan Esrawi partnered with Daniel Dayn for an 8-3 win over Nick Bell and Leevi Selanne on court one.

Like doubles, Curry's squad was two short in singles play, which locked up the win for the Rams. The host went on to triumph on the top two singles courts as well for the 7-2 final.

Reilly defeated Selanne at No. 2 and Mered downed Bell at No. 1 by identical 6-0, 6-1 margins.
