PROVIDENCE, R.I.  – Suffolk men's tennis wrapped up its non-conference calendar with a 7-2 setback to Rhode Island College Thursday afternoon at the RIC Tennis Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Doubles play wrapped up in reverse order. Rhode Island College collected a 2-1 edge in the match with wins on courts three and two, in that order, before the twosome of Hasan Esrawi and Daniel Dayn defeated Josh Brien and Andrew Fanning, 8-6, as the top tandem.  

The Anchormen quickly locked up the win as it had golden sets at the fifth and sixth positions, before taking triumphs at No. 4 and No. 2. 

The blue-and-gold's ace Medhi Mered put together a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Brien to tact on Suffolk's second point of the day before RIC rounded out play with a victory at the third spot for the final 7-2 decision.

2 – Noah Morin/Elijah Gouin(RIC) defeated Medhi Mered/Diego Hernandez-Pons (Suffolk), 8-4

  • Suffolk scored two points against RIC for the first time since April 25, 2019, a 7-2 setback to the Anchormen.
